Achieve: Fight with Time

As an adult, what is one thing you feel bullied by the most?

I bet the lack of time is a big and ugly tyrannt that most of us deal with daily.

Oliver Burkeman's book, "Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals" empowers our ability to deal with time effectively.

I just finished the book and here are 6 lessons that will change your relationship with time:

  1. You do not need to prove anything to your future self
  2. Convenience makes us blind
  3. Negligence creates validity
  4. Reality will always fall short of your imagination
  5. Time fluctuates around our mental state
  6. Rest is a strenuous, intentional, and a difficult effort

What to go deeper?

Discover: Choose Uncomfortable Enlargement

"Choose uncomfortable enlargement over comfortable diminishment whenever you can" -James Hollis

Growth is hard.

It requires expansion beyond our comfort zone.

In planning this year, I encourage you to choose uncomfortable enlargement as often as you can.

Take care!

Hey Reader, This isn’t one of those big dramatic announcements. No changes from what you have come to expect from me but for me this intentional move is huge. That’s what’s happening with this newsletter. I’m moving it from my previous email client (Kit) to Substack. Why? A few reasons. Substack is becoming a place where more and more of the kinds of thoughtful conversations I care about are happening. It’s built for community, and it gives me more room to experiment—more flexibility to play...
